Sparkling wines with no residual sugar: a modern philosophy
In order to make a sparkling wine, sugar and yeasts are added to a still wine. These two elements, reacting between each other, develop the bubbles we all love. This means that this production method requires the addition of sugar to the wine. That is why most of the sparkling wines you can find in the market have some residual sugar, which varies depending on the wine and the producer.
Since we started producing wine, the wine lovers that choose our wines do it also because of their low residual sugar content, which equals zero in some of the sparkling wines we produce. The trait that makes sparkling wines with low residual sugar content unique is the straightforward and dry taste, that comes along with a pleasant acidity accompanied by mineral and floral hints.
These sparkling wines pair perfectly with mozzarella cheese, cold cuts and fried food in general, but also with sushi and sashimi. For this reason these sparkling wines enjoy great popularity in Asian countries such as Japan.
The La Jara wines stand out for these peculiarities, they perfectly reflect our winemaking philosophy.Among the wines we produce, there are 3 sparkling wines with no residual sugar:
- Prosecco DOC Spumante Zero Dosage: This is one of our signature wines, that was previously labeled as Zero Assoluto, and it was promoted as Prosecco DOC in 2024
- Chardonnay Spumante Brut Nature: A rich and complex sparkling wine, created in 2019 to celebrate our first 20 years of organic farming
- Pinot Noir Blanc de Noir Spumante Brut Nature: This sparkling wine has been released for the first time in 2024, which is the year that marks our 25 years of organic farming, and it shows distinctive tropical and exotic scents
