Prosecco DOC Millesimato Dry & Apple strudel

Prosecco DOC Millesimato Dry is an elegant wine, fruity and pleasantly soft, perfect to match with a refined dessert such as the Apple strudel. The traditional dessert of the Alps, much appreciated for its contrasting textures, the distinct sweetness and the sour notes of apple, needs a fresh and fruity wine and Prosecco Millesimato Dry is the most inspired choice to savor a good apple strudel.

The scent of white flowers and Golden Apple is made unique by the addition of exotic fruit and citrus notes that make it the perfect match for a fruit dessert or leavened sweets.

We recommend this classic version of apple strudel served with a precious  Sparkling wine such as the Millesimato Dry, which with its fine and persistent perlage cleanses the palate and brings out the sweetness of the apples.

Apple Strudel Recipe

The traditional apple strudel recipe is simple and allows you to prepare in no time a delicate and light dessert, perfect to finish off a fine lunch.

Ingredients

Sultanas
Apples
Pine nuts
Cinnamon
Butter
Rectangular puff pastry
Icing sugar
Winter cherries

Preparation

Leave the sultanas to soak into water, meanwhile peel and dice the apples.  In a skillet melt the butter, slightly toast the pine nuts, add the apples and sultanas drained and squeezed; then add a few tablespoons of bread crumbs, useful to absorb moisture from the fruit, and finally sprinkle with cinnamon.  Remove from heat and let it cool.

Roll out the pastry, fill it with the stuffing and roll up taking care to seal the edges. Make cuts on the top to release the steam, so that the puff pastry appears crisp and airy, brush with beaten egg yolk and bake at 200 degrees for about 40′.

Remove from the oven and let it cool . Transfer the slices to a serving platter and sprinkle with icing sugar and finally embellish the dish with winter cherries.
Enjoy your dessert with a glass of Prosecco DOC Millesimato Dry.
